Public Area: Becoming a Trainer - Application

Last updated March 5, 2007

After reviewing your application, we will let you know whether we believe that the Global'Ease process is appropriate for you or will gladly advise you on which path might be best for you.

Finally, this application process will allow you to start thinking about topics that will be addressed during the training and to draw as much from it as possible.

Don’t you think this application file can discourage even the most motivated ones?

You’ll have noticed that our trainers share five qualities.

The first three (international experience, business experience, training experience) you know whether you have it. The fourth (intercultural training approach) is what we provide.

The fifth, what we call the Full Potential attitude, is the most important quality of all. This means having reached a stage of intercultural maturity that allows a trainer to have enough detachment and perspective about their multicultural experiences that they can be truly focused on supporting their participants. Many “internationals” are at a “third culture” stage, meaning that they juggle their different facets without having necessarily found a way of bringing them together, making sense of them, regaining a solid sense of identity. Many trainers are at this stage and look to the intercultural field as a way of “justifying” or “legitimizing” who they are. They may be good trainers, but their words and actions won’t be consistent with the Full Potential approach that is the foundation of all Global’Ease courses. So, finding out more about the trainers is essential to see whether they are on the way to their own “Full Potential” stage. You may be surprised by the nature of some of the questions in the questionnaire and the need for self-disclosure. Hopefully this explanation will help you understand our reasons for doing so!
